Job Description
Children's Ministry Lead
Mission Hill Church / Mission Hill Fellowship of Calgary
FOCUS______________________________________________________
The focus of this position is to lead the teaching of the gospel through Mission Hill Church’s
(MHC’s) Children’s Ministry including recruiting and training passionate leaders, selecting
curriculum and activities that meet our vision and values, and above all to facilitate solid
teaching and mentorship to children from infants to Grade 6 in our congregation.
This is a part-time position of 16 hours per week including active oversight of Sunday morning
children’s programs and weekly office hours. The position will have a 12-18 month term with
extension possible if mutually agreeable.
QUALIFICATIONS_____________________________________________
1. A fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ that models a passion for God, a love for people,
and a life that exemplifies personal holiness and prayer. Meets the biblical qualifications
for deaconship (1 Tim.3 & Titus)
2. Proficient in one’s ability to share the gospel and counsel one’s self according to
scripture.
3. Experience in supporting teams towards desirable goals and developing passionate
followers of Jesus Christ for all age groups.
4. Demonstrating spiritual giftedness essential for the position.
5. Demonstrates capabilities to perform necessary tasks and responsibilities of that of a
deacon: biblical understanding, counselling, administration, and care.
6. Demonstrates the pursuit of accountability within the church body. Models a humble and
teachable spirit; desiring personal and professional growth.
7. Demonstrates good time-management
8. Post-Secondary Education and relative ministry experience of 3-5 years.
9. Prayerfully supports, uplifts, and encourages other pastors and ministries; modeling
kingdom ministry and Christian fellowship within the city of Calgary.
ONGOING PERFORMANCE STANDARDS________________________
1. Uphold the ABMB Confession and Acts 29 Statement of Faith.
2. In good standing with the ABMB Code of Conduct for credentialed pastoral staff.
3. Uphold MHC’s mission, vision, and policies as described in the policies handbook.
4. Help retain leaders who also adhere to the values of the church.
5. Demonstrate effective administrative support of key ministry areas.
6. Successful completion of a criminal record check
MINISTRY TASKS________________________________________________
● Give oversight to gospel teaching and care for children from infants to Grade 6
● Implement and maintain Plan to Protect protocols across all ministries, ensuring proper
documentation and training compliance
● Continue to develop and implement a plan for gospel teaching suitable for all Children’s
Ministry age groups
● Recruit, schedule, and provide ongoing support, mentoring, and pastoral care to
children's ministry teachers and volunteers
● Prepare and distribute curriculum materials, videos, and teaching supplies
● Collaborate with ministry partners to co-lead Vacation Bible School (VBS) for 1 week
each summer
● Lead a ministry oversight team built from gifted volunteers in our congregation
● Accountable to ensure Sunday morning children’s programs are properly planned,
staffed, and delivered
● Ensure compliance of MHC’s Programs with our Plan to Protect Program
This position is liable to periodic adjustment, for such areas as time-allotment or dispersion of
responsibility to new volunteers or staff members, upon the agreement of the Lead Pastor and
elders board. Any such changes will be discussed and signed by both parties to allow clarity
moving forward and proper staff evaluations.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

The focus of this position is to provide administrative support to the staff and volunteer ministry
leaders at Mission Hill Church (MHC). This is a critical position that will allow our ministries and
programs to run smoothly by managing the day-to-day activities of our church, acting as a
liaison between the congregation, our staff, and ministry leads, and on many occasions being
the first point of contact for new attendees.
This is a part-time position of 16 hours per week including weekly office hours. The position
will have a 12-18 month term with extension possible if mutually agreeable.

MINISTRY TASKS________________________________________________
Sunday Service Admin
- Prepare weekly presentation slides for songs and scripture readings, announcements
- Communion supply purchase and prep
Office Admin
- Manage office bookings and ministry calendar coordination
- Provide administrative support to ministry leads and staff leadership
- Manage general housekeeping needs for ministry teams and facilities
- Provide administrative and logistical support to Ukrainian ministry partnership
- Handle various weekly administrative tasks and special projects as they arise
- Support marketing and communications initiatives including weekly newsletter
- Participate in Tues morning weekly staff planning meetings
